Dear International Student:

The International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) team’s ongoing efforts to transition to a “new normal” means more remote work for our staff, but we want to take this opportunity to assure you that our foremost goal is to continue providing the best possible service and support to you.

Online Courses:  The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is permitting international students to take online courses until May 8, 2020. If you need any help in this area, please communicate with your academic advisor immediately.

F-1/J-1 Visa Status: It is important to maintain your F-1 or J-1 visa status as a full-time student. Please contact the ISSS BEFORE you consider withdrawing from an online class or stop studying.

Departure from the U.S.: Please communicate with Mona and Larry immediately if you decide to leave the U.S. (See contact information below.) It may hurt your immigration status if you do NOT communicate with us.

Tax Filing: The deadline for filing income taxes has been postponed from April 15, 2020 to July 15, 2020. If you cannot file at this time, you have up to three years to do so.

Optional Practical Training (OPT): Please contact Mona if you want to discuss this.

Questions or concerns: Please feel free to reach out to us about anything you would like to discuss. The ISSS team is available to support you through the following channels, from march 27 to May 11, 2020, Monday to Friday.
