Dear campus community:
This message is for the Gallaudet and Clerc Center communities, including employees, students, and alumni. If you recall, on August 14, I announced that we would conduct a comprehensive assessment of the Department of Public Safety (DPS). This process has already started, and will be ongoing.
We recognize that community feedback is absolutely essential. We would like to provide our community with an opportunity to do so in a safe environment. Thus, we are offering the following two avenues to anyone who wishes to provide the DPS Assessment team with feedback about their past experiences, and suggestions on how DPS can improve its interactions with the community. This will help us immensely.
First: we have created a dedicated email address, email@example.com, to which anyone can send English text or an American Sign Language video. This email address is NOT monitored by any personnel within DPS. Rather, it goes directly to the DPS Assessment Team, which includes the following:
Dominic Lacy, Chief Operating Officer
Elizabeth Moore, Interim Chief Diversity Officer
Stephon Healey, Head Strength and Conditioning Coach, Athletics Department
Legal Counsel from Gallaudet’s Office of General Counsel
A member of our external assessment team, the Hogan Lovells law firm
Second: we will be offering 15-minute feedback sessions for anyone who wishes to book time to meet with the DPS Assessment Team in a Zoom meeting. You will have an opportunity to meet directly with Mr. Lacy, Dr. Moore, and Mr. Healey. The external assessment team from Gallaudet’s Office of General Counsel and Hogan Lovells will also watch and listen to these feedback sessions, but will not participate. At this time, we will be offering feedback sessions for the next three Fridays
Friday, October 2, noon to 4 p.m. Eastern Time
Friday, October 9 noon to 4 p.m. Eastern Time
Friday, October 23, noon to 4 p.m. Eastern Time
Sign up for a 15 minute feedback session at https://gufeedbacksession.youcanbook.me/.
You will receive an email confirmation of the booking, and you will receive a follow-up email with the Zoom link for your feedback session.
Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Again, for instructions on how to book time with the DPS Assessment team, please go to our Gallaudet website at https://gu.live/DPSFB.
Thank you for being steadfast in supporting the work we all are doing together. Your support and your feedback are very important for this DPS assessment, and will ensure that we all are working together to ensure DPS provides the best possible experience and service to our community in the most equitable manner.
Dominic N. Lacy
Chief Operating Officer
