Clerc Center Teachers, Staff and Families –

This has been a challenging week across the country and around the world. We know everyone is dealing with the daily changes in the news about COVID-19 and the impacts on our daily routines. It will take time for each of us to figure out what life will look like in this new temporary normal.

Our teachers and staff have been working very hard this week to develop educational resources for students and families. We extend our thanks to them for making this a priority while they were trying to prepare their own families for this extended time at home. We know families are anxious for their children to continue learning and wanted to send a brief update with what you can expect from the schools in the next several weeks:

Friday, March 20
Each school leadership team will be communicating with families details about the close of the 3rd quarter, progress reports, and what you can expect in the next two weeks.

Monday, March 23
Educational Resource Packets will be sent home both by hard copy mail and electronically. Packets will include grade level appropriate learning activities for students to do independently as well as for families to engage in together.

We will begin posting activities for families on the school Facebook pages as well and sending the same information out through the Clerc Center Daily.

Thursday, March 26
We will be communicating about plans for the following week (week of March 30), as well as updates about other critical school business (e.g. academic calendar for AY 20-21, building sanitizing etc).

This national/global emergency is changing very quickly and we are monitoring reports and updates every day, as well as guidance from the State of Maryland with whom we collaborate for state assessments, and the U.S. Department of Education. We are committed to communicating regularly throughout this crisis to keep everyone informed.

Thank you and be safe.
