Dear campus community:

We would like to thank everyone for their cooperation during the transition period between August 26 and September 7, as we welcomed a small group of students back to campus and took another step in Moving Forward Together. At this time, we have no known COVID-19 cases on campus.
We are still in Phase 1 of the Gallaudet Way Forward plan. Access to campus will continue to be closely monitored and restricted, with most of our employees working remotely and teaching virtually.
ACCESS: Approval to come to campus during the fall semester
Fall Repeated Access List
- This is a list of people approved to either be on campus or come to campus throughout the entire fall semester.
- It was generated by each Executive Team member.
- Examples of people on this list include current on-campus students, residents, and essential employees.
Fall One-time Access Permits
- This is a permit generated by the Department of Public Safety for those who are not on the Repeated Access List, but who must come to campus for a brief time: for example, to pick up a package at the post office or supplies from your private office.
- This should be for tasks that are absolutely necessary for classes or operations of your department.
Already on the Repeated Access List?
-
Please make an appointment with the Department of Public Safety (dps.parking@gallaudet.edu) to pick up a gold sticker. The gold sticker identifies you as Repeated Access-Approved for ease of entry at the Eighth Street kiosk.
-
Please remember to show your gold sticker as well as a completed health assessment at the kiosk.
Do you need to access campus one time?
-
For University community members
-
Email the Department of Public Safety (dps.parking@gallaudet.edu) to make a one-time appointment. DPS will issue a PDF access permit, following your specified date, time, and location request, for you to show at the front gate. Please be sure to make your request a minimum of 24 to 48 hours in advance.
-
-
For Clerc Center community members
-
To schedule an appointment to pick up belongings from your office or classroom (maximum one hour), fill out this form.
-
To request time to come on campus for a longer time block or several days (no more than three days), contact your supervisor.
-
If approved, the Clerc Center will provide you with a PDF access permit from DPS.
-
For either type of request to the Clerc Center, please be sure to make your request a minimum of 24 to 48 hours in advance.
-
If you would like to be added to the Repeated Access List, please contact your Executive Team leader. If your request is approved, your Executive Team leader will let us know.
HEALTH ASSESSMENTS: Health assessments must be completed on a daily basis by on-campus adult residents and anyone coming to campus
Have you completed COVID-19 Safety Training?
-
Please start using the ServiceNow Health Assessment here.
-
Please remember to login first.
-
Upon completion, the system will send an email which can be used to enter at the kiosk.
-
Have you not completed COVID-19 Safety Training, but need to come to campus?
-
Fill out the Google Form Assessment here. This form will not be available after September 27.
-
Sign up for a COVID-19 Safety Training Webinar as soon as possible.
-
Access to the ServiceNow web page is fully dependent on completed safety training.
-
Anyone with a Gallaudet University email address will be required to use ServiceNow after September 28.
-
Google Forms will no longer be accepted.
-
Campus Access Permits and Health Assessments are two completely different things. Anyone coming to campus is required to complete both and show your ID.
Before you come to campus:
-
Review the Gallaudet University Interim Face-Covering Policy.
-
Review the Gallaudet Way Forward Reopening Plan 2020.
-
Have your One-time Access permit ready to show to DPS at the front gate. Either print it out or show it on your smartphone.
These are the expectations while you are on campus:
-
Bring your ID; there will be 100% ID check at the front gate.
-
Wear a mask.
-
Practice responsible social distancing, maintaining at least six feet separation from others at all times.
-
Go to the approved area directly; do not go to other areas.
-
Use disinfectant wipes to clean all surfaces that are touched.
-
Do not stay past your allotted time.
For access-related questions, please email covid.access@gallaudet.edu. For COVID-19 related questions, please email coronavirus@gallaudet.edu
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Dominic N. Lacy
